Were you just a figment of my imagination?
A character of what most would call a dream.
I will never comprehend how you seemed to vanish.
Similar to the air I was breathing,
When my ears fell victim to hear of your fate.
Did you grow wings and fly?
Did you see the floor vanish beneath you,
As you drifted into an unknown space named Heaven.
Did they ever think twice,
About so selfishly taking your life straight from your hands.
I am almost forced to believe in an entity that comes from a book.
An excuse to see you again one day.
They would never let me through the gates,
Learning of my false faith.
I can’t fly with you,
My wings are broken.

The person that this poem was written about, was a very important person in my life that passed away recently. I wrote this in an attempt to show how much he meant to me and how much I miss him. It also touches on my religious beliefs.
