Once Upon A Time, That Girl Was Me
Close my eyes
Open my mouth
Press my fingers deeper, deeper
Onto my tongue
Colors swim behind my eyelids
Edges fade to black
And now my eyes
Open.
Watch my insides
Spill.
Out of my mouth into the world
If my own body does not want
Itself
Why would anyone else?
Rock backward
Catch my breath
There it is
Proof of the nothing I’ve become
You don’t deserve to be happy.
You’re just like everybody
Else.
Well watch closely as I
Fade
Away.
Everybody else isn’t this weak.
