When you are little,
You want “The Life”
You want to live in a fantasy,
Have all your dreams come true
And be like our idols, a Barbie.

You aren’t being yourself,
You’re putting on an act.
You’re trying to fit in
And be like everybody else.

One day my mom said to me:
“Live your life,
Don’t be arrogant,
And have a hell of a time being your own person.”

Then I remembered something I read,
In that ghostly white, boring classroom:
“Dance like nobodies watching;
Love like you’ve never been hurt;
Sing like nobodies listening;
Live like it’s heaven on earth.”*

Think about it,
Everything in life doesn’t fall into pieces,
Just like a 2000 piece puzzle,
It doesn’t build itself.

Fantasies aren’t real life,
There are superb moments in life,
As well as dull moments.
We always live through the days,
But you never know how long you have to live.

Don’t waste precious time,
Do crazy things,
Try new experiences.
Be a dare devil.

Do what you want to do,
Be who you want to be.
When you look back in life,
It’s only the good times
You remember,
So make many.

Make memories,
Create your own world.
Be your own person,
Be an idol.
Stand your ground,
If you fall
Get back up and keep going.

Life is short,
Time flies and it’s hard to catch
Like sand through fingers.

Don’t let your life fly by,
Explore new things,
Try new things
And have no regrets.

Find good in everything
And cherish every moment.
The clock doesn’t stop ticking.

Live as if today was your last.
Take chances, be happy.
Be yourself.
