Last Nights Breath
Last nights Breath
Eyes
Flowing gaze past the ceiling
Seemingly in a trance
Fighting the light coming nearer
Striving to stay breathing
He is jerking now and ghostly pale
Intense bouts clash on
Between worlds
Fighting another war
But the field has changed
The thrashing of his chest
Like a fish deprived of water
An impending death
Growing ever colder from outer tips in
Heat only left within his heart
And now comes more sorrow
He lets out
But doesn’t draw in
While we sing prayers
Tears drop and stain our clothes
Cold but not alone
