Mine! For Ethan
It was my little brother,
Ethan’s first birthday
My mom, dad, aunt and I was there
We wrapped the presents
Ethan tried to stand on them
Then we went to get dinner
Dinner was good
But dessert was GREAT
We all ate a nice chocolate cake
My family sat in the living room
While I got the presents
Ethan tore...
...AND TORE...
...AND TORE...
The first gift was from the auntie
Ethan loved it
But we had to move on
The next was from sissy
Even though mom bought it
The last gift was from mom and dad
It was still in a large box
It was huge and it had lots of tape
We opened it...
And we revealed what was lying inside...
...A small plastic slide
Ethan went down
again
and again
But eventually he got distracted
And played with something else
I watched and rested
Sitting on the slide
With my hands on the floor
And my knees on the other side of the slide
Although he had paid me no attention before
He turned and crawled with a determined expression
Over to the slide
He crawled under my stomach and pushed with all his mite
“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”
“Eeeeeeeeeeeee”
He whined
He was trying to push me off the slide
I jumped off
And he was happy
But being his big sister
I had to push it
I did it some more and we filmed it this time
But then it was late
Auntie had to go
We had to sleep
But it was a fun day
And now we still laugh
To this very day
