My house

Over there is my house.
and it’s not all mine

it belongs to the kitchen
and the dishes

it belongs to the dining room
which has only been eaten in
once

this dining room juts out into
a living room which only the
kids watch television in

alone

because across the foyer
is another living room
with parents watching shows
they like to watch

alone

upstairs
there are four bedrooms

one used be out parent’s room
until one moved out and into the
guest bedroom
“too much snoring” they said

another one across the hall
is my own bedroom
I like to stay in there
a lot

next to my room
is the guest bedroom
and I hear no snoring
at night

and down the hall
is my sister’s room,
which I am forbidden
to go in without starting
a fight

and down the halls
and in to each room
is all my house

the walls are perfectly painted
the floors are moped but
I think it needs something

perhaps
renovations.
