the sun
The sun my one and light.
So steady will it shine on me.
Till' purple skies interpret spite
And suddenly my hope will flee
The clearest signal of neglect
The sun is tired of my skies
For reasons I cannot suspect
We utter last goodbyes
As dim the trail of light lies west
The sun has left me all alone
But hours pass the sky blessed
With droplets for my eyes to hone
The millions of stars blanket dust of light
Their secrets left for me to find
And suddenly that sun so bright
Is easy to leave behind
