Feet pounding,
Arms pumping,
Breathing in and then out.
Fatigued legs,
Burning lungs.
The finish is right there,
Reaching deep
For that last bit of power.
Push until the end.
A few more steps,
Seem like an endless journey.
Closer
And,
Stop.
It is over.
All the training,
Pain,
And hard work have finally paid off.
Now finished,
In first place.
