Run From Fear

By , glasford, IL
Line,
Line.
Yellow.dashed.line after,
Yellow.dashed.line.

Line...
Line.
Thump,
Thump.
Heart;

I shiver a shiver,
It creeps up my spine,
It slithers down my throat,
And blurs with the lines.

Line, Line,
Thump, Thump.

Inside a sickening,
Pacman maze,
Cemented to the road,
My throat ablaze.

Shiver.

Line, Line.
Thump, Thump.

Behind my eyes,
My memory tries,
To drown me in pain,
And skin me alive.

Line, Line. Line,
Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump.

Heart; pound...pound..
A brick of pulsing, stabbing, pain,
Gnarled, and nibbled,
Loved away.

The wind your breath,
Tickling my ear,
Your voice the trees' whispers,
Tantalizing fear.

Line, Line, Line.
Thump Thump Thump Thump.
Heart; pound..pound..pound..

Your tree branches reach down,
They stroke my hair,
The wind blasts discomfort,
There's not enough air.

Behind my eyes,
Your face appears.
My retinas on fire,
Acidic Tears.

Linelinelineline,
Thumpthumpthumpthump
poundpoundpoundpound.

I cannot run forever,
You're the sign at the dead end,
You have pushed me forward,
And my fear cannot defend.

Wow, I loved this!

I actually felt as if I were *in* the poem.

What more can I say, I haven't the words at this time.

Maybe later.

As someone I have commented with would say,

Do your dance.
