That Dream
I remember that dream I had.
So vivid, so real.
As if you were standing next to me.
The warmth and glow,
Of the sun on my skin.
Your eyes, as blue as the sky.
I remember that day.
Your smile was like,
The brightest star in the night.
I never want to forget,
The way I laughed,
The way I felt.
So safe, so calm,
In your arms.
Out of harm’s way.
Tears rain down my face,
Just thinking of that memory.
A moment like that is rare.
It just hurts to know,
You never cared.
I still have that dream.
I try to grasp every detail.
I wake up out of breath.
Feeling empty every time.
