Always in the back of my mind,
Waiting, watching for the right time
To appear and destroy me
Tearing up my mentality.
Going insane is harder than it looks.
Wanting to retreat back into my books,
But being held prisoner by it as it toys
With my mind everyday.
Saying all it wants to do is play,
But its game is dangerous
And I want to quit,
But there’s no possible way out alive
If I lose.
Losing isn’t an option,
But it feels like I’m headed that way.
What am I supposed to say?
Win?
That’s what I’ll do,
Everyday I’ll overcome
And put behind me what’s been done.
One of these days in the future
We’ll look back on this situation of mine
And you’ll know that I survived
Somehow
Even though it doesn’t feel like it
