Im so tired of regretted words, and wishing I just hadn't.
So sick of knowing I love someone,
but saying I hate them instead.
Sick of feeling the pain of years old wounds.
Sick of trying to replace the "dad factor"
and the "normal family factor".
Wish I could take it all back.

Turn back the hands of time,
and replace everything
with more thought through reactions.
Needing to have a Take Two
on all my past mistakes.
Hoping to wash away
all of life's regrets.

Sick of feeling empty
after I lock everyone out.
Sick of rejecting people
who love me more than I could dream.
Sick of cutting strings,
and burning my bridges.
Wish I could take it all back.

I know I can't change the past,
and I can't predict the future.
Know I can't take words back
after they've been said.
Know its all my fault,
when a friend finally walks away.
I guess I've still got so much to learn.

I've got so much to learn.
Like holding my tounge.
Holding on tight,
and letting go.
Accepting the things I have now.
I guess I've still got so much to learn.

I've got so much to learn
Like telling my dad that
he's the one that's kept me sane.
Telling my mom I've always loved her.
Letting them know Im sorry
for all the mistakes I've made.
I guess I've still got so much to learn.

I've got so much to learn.
Like learning to respect my elders,
and accepting God as he is and always has been.
Learning to take hold
of the guidance of those wiser than I.
And take silence seriously.
I know I've still got so much left to learn.

As teenagers, we tend to think too much of our "wisdom." Sometimes we forget we're just kids, and in all the angst and hopelessness, we feel frustrated.
