Her Mask
She wears a smile;
She's alright.
The mask painted,
Conversation takes flight.
Everything's fine
As far as he knows
Catching up,
It's the way it goes.
Water glistens
Sliding down her cheek
Worry heightens
She now appears weak.
Trying so hard,
She wants him to be happy,
But it's not working
It's turning sappy.
He wants to help
But she's not having it.
Her mask is cracking,
And all he can do is sit.
