"Love is when two people choose to sit in the middle of a bench when there is plenty of room on the ends."-Anonymous

It is a constant reminder of things past.
An anxious hope of good things to come.
Red is your smile, your eyes,
your hand in mine at a picnic this summer.
Red is laughing, late night phone calls,
and every moment spent with you.
Red is homemade meatballs and X-Men
on a cold and rainy Saturday night.
Red is slamming doors, raised voices, and instant regret.
Red is Youtube videos, Facebook messages,
and ninjas.
Red is not just a color.
Red is love.

I wrote this for a creative writing class this sememster, and got alot of good feedback on it. What inspired me was the fact that so often we relate the color red to love, and love to the Hallmark holiday we've made out of it. But love is so much more than the big gestures. It's what happens in everyday life that mkes up a relationship, a marriage, even a friendship. Love is something you can see every day, you just have to look for it.
