Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
Louisa May Alcott

To the kid lost in her imagination,
I understand exactly what you’re up against.
The blank stares at the wall,
The look in your eye that says
your mind is really somewhere else
when it should be here,
concentrating on the task at hand.
I understand.
When people come up to you
and ask you if you’re ok.
You say yes,
And you don’t understand why
they’d think you weren’t.
You were in your own world,
that’s all.
A world full of witches,
and fish;
of princesses
and magic rings.
You’ve created a story
that you’re dying to tell,
one full of love
and magic
and adventure,
one unlike any other.
I understand,
and I’m here to tell you
that you must write.
Signed,
The accomplished author

This is a letter poem I wrote. I was supposed to write one for a school assignment, but I got carried away and wrote two instead.
