Stereotypes;
What a stereotypical word
I wish I can erase its existence
From this stereotypical world

There is no reality
In the stupid chickflicks
Every girls' first love
Has no roses or background music

When one man, one soul, dies
None of it is slow motion
It all happens second by second
with no dramatic, backwards motion

People with evil in their hearts
Don't appear in capes like curtains
Most walk the sacred ground
Veiled as a common person

The world itself as we know it
Isn't as what it seems
It's not full of coincedences
As we've all seen in movies

Even, I myself
Might as well be a stereotype
You all say I'm undoubtfully happy
But that's because you've never seen the other side

That's why I want to erase them
Every line of a stereotypical
thread
The truth needs to shine
Or else the lies will instead

The author's comments:
We're all a stereotype. If you think everyone's unique, well, you're thinking in a stereotypical way. Just like history today, we're born in a cycle. But if we break that cycle, there might be a chance where we can take our own, non-stereotypical track.

I really love this!! It's very truthful, I think about it all the time lol It's nice seeing another poet who tackles the truth of the world more bluntly than hiding behind roses, Good job, keep writing!!! :)

amazing and thought-provoking. Very true as well. I enjoy all your work, by the way. :) It relates to me in a very distinct way- please comment on some of my work. (some of it is really dumb, just being with friends. But my poetry and SUMMERS DO END are my more serious works that I did hard work on.)
