My Memory Boat

September 29, 2010

Pictures of the past
Drifting like snowflakes
Between my fingertips
Building a boat on cresting ocean waves
I see your face on the mast with
Your eyes glowing, breathing hard
I
Try to throw the rocks from the shore
At your laughing face
But they barely touch the throbbing waves
You turn my memory boat opaque ebony
Because the pain you bring
Breaks the memories in my heart
Memories from when I
Thought I had a best friend
