Just like the leaves fall down from a tree,

A six-letter word left me crumbled as can be.

A happy little family, it seemed like nothing could go wrong,

Until a few little words make the days feel ever so long.

This six-letter word seems so harmless,

Then why did it leave my life in such a mess.

This six-letter word, I dare not to say,

For the mere sound of it makes me want to fade away.

How fast this six-letter word can ruin a life,

Broken it can leave a family with kids and a wife.

Small little disease almost silent,

Who knew your ways could end up so violent

One day I tell you there will be an answer

To this murderer that we call Cancer.

I wrote this piece because cancer has been a significant part of my life. My dad had cancer and overcame it. that was my inspiration for this piece.
