In the heat of the south, sirens blare
A stray in the ally after ten
I am confined
Suffocating on hatred of men
Like a prison without bars
I am confined
Sentenced for a crime upon birth
Can’t cross the color line
I am confined
Bigotry my warden
Injustice my fate
I am confined
