Reality is a Dream

There are moments
when my world shines brightly enough
that I doubt
that reality is not a dream,
destined to decay
upon the surrender of deep sleep
to an invasion of sunlight across my face.
But then
you smile at me,
and my heart beats loudly enough
to reassure me
that I am awake.
