Don't Wait
I run to you
towards you towards
long shadow stretching across pavement,
you are tall enough to block out my sun,
enough to enfold me in darkness and complexities.
I want to run to you towards you towards
reassurance and a
smile to
jump start a stalled heart go
beepbeepbeep,
but you are too wrapped up
in problems that I try
(and there are much more
trying things in the world)
to fix to
see or care.
You stop and wait at your own convenience well
I am tired of catching up.
I hate the way you
make my world move
the way you spin it
on its axis
so I am
stopping
standing
holding my ground.
One day you will look
back
in your need
and I will be too far
behind to see.
