pack my bags full of guilt
and throw me out into that sea of mediocrity
i fight to the surface; try to breathe
you push me back under the waves
are you trying to drown me?
fill my lungs with this feeling of inadequacy?
fix yourself, your problems
don't make them mine
let me keep my angel
my angel that listens when i pray and feeds me colorful candies
and new thoughts to untie all of the knots you've made with
your flailing
your pacing back and forth
your inconsistency that makes me nervous
you've put me in this hole
let me climb my way out
i don't want your help, i don't need it.
you'll only trip me
kick sand in my eyes
then wipe my tears and tell me not to cry
stop contradicting yourself
show me some kind of stability.
the stability from you that i yearn for
maybe you should find your own angel
that will feed you pretty candy
to melt your nerves
