I remember we...
Played outside all day,
And watched tv for quite a while,
Being with you took my worries away,
And when I was sad, you made me smile,
We shared our secrets and gave advice,
While eating fried almonds mixed with rice,
We made wacky hairdos with each others hair,
And laughed so loud that people began to stare,
But time started to fly by oh so fast,
And we could not hold back the tears,
For we knew summer would not last,
I boarded the airplane,
And you left in the car,
Then we both stared out our windows,
And wished on a star,
That next summer Hiba we won't delay,
And that friendship would find its way,

This poem is about my cousin Hiba. I only get to see her in the summer since she lives all the way in Lebanon, and I live in the United States. So every summer that I visit Lebanon we spend a lot of time together. We are just like sisters and have a lot in common and I miss her so much, so that is why I wrote this poem.
