Ugly Innocence

Run and hide you know its there,
the little child standing there,
skin so soft but pulled so tight,
his small bones show a disturbing sight,
dirty mother hides in darkness,
cradled infant sleeps so breathless,
pushed to a corner, she starts to cry,
can't escape walls so high,
death creeping through her blood,
hands shaking soon she's done,
sickness grabs not one but both,
a cruel fate laughs then it chokes,
gone within the blink of an eye,
so just go run and hide
