let's just pretend

let's just pretend this place is ours
that the others don't exist
we spend time in bed for hours
and cross everything off our list
let's just pretend we aren't our age
that time is years ahead
we then could be engaged
and vow to love til death
let's just pretend we hadn't met
that there was no you and me
live a life searching for a set
that was never meant to be
let's just know we will always be something, us
us is something to be
the only perfection we've ever known
it's just you and me.
