It's time for a goodbye..
We put on a brave face
Even though we both know
There’s another place
Calling our hearts,
Calling our names,
Somewhere long and distant
From the space between us.
We know there’s no more love.
But we can’t seem to
Completely let go.
We just don’t really know
Where else to go.
So we hold onto this.
With the edges of our fingertips.
We’re not ready for it to seep away.
Even though we can’t find
The right words to say.
And we’ve both worn out
The typical “I’m sorry.”
So where do we go from here?
Is there any chance we could
Go back to what we were in a
Future that’s near?
Or are we always going to be stuck?
In this godforsaken rut,
That’s suffocating you and me.
The ties need to be torn,
We need to break free.
