My Sister This work is considered exceptional by our editorial staff.

By , Randolph, NJ
Distant, she
hides behind austere beauty,
striking and ever masked she does not
know my name
Always last in line she’s never had the chance to
play a tom-tom in music class
Frigid, she has never stood beside me nor has she ever
whispered the word ‘overt’
She wears vulnerability like a slip, and insists on
wearing her overcoat indoors
