White Tickets

White tickets
Planes and claims for bags
Industrialized plains of rows of neutral colors
Under you, with a white ticket in your pocket
Papers and things that mean certificates
And white tickets that give you, what you have been waiting for, for 12 years
A green card is good too but you need that ticket
Or else you have been waiting in line at the butchery with no number
Or no identification that will signal anyone to help you.
So here I am. 12 years older. With 1 more piece of paper.
But I’m free.
