From Careless to Heartless

Time to take my heart off my sleeve,
It was such a careless place.
Time to lock it up again,
no more falling for a pretty face.
I can't believe I fell so hard for this stupid fairytale.
It's been proven time and time again that in matter of the heart I'm bound to fail.
So it's time to lock my heart away,
to chastise my dreaming mind.
To make sure no pretty smile or sugared words,
can ever break the binds.
I don't even care if this puts me on my way,
to a heartless woman in the making.
I'd rather be heartless,
than have a heart that's always breaking.
