Crabs
So repulsive and sickening
Between the jagged stones of the shore
They slink around
With their unsightly sideways crawl
And their beady eyes that poke out
To stare at me
Even as they spend their last moments in a pot of steaming water
They come to haunt me as they always stare at me from my plate…
