How it used to be

I woke up one morning
And life became hard
The decisions became real
Fairytales fell apart
The breaths became hard
Harder to take in
And life became different
Simplicity hit the wind

Chorus:
When did I lose
All that I've gained?
When did fairytales
Turn into plain old games?
Where did the days
Of playing outside,
Hide and go seek,
Run and hide?
What happened to the boys
And girls we knew?
Where did all our friends go?
Where did they run to?
Who can I talk with?
Who can I see?
To get my childhood back
To get my life back
To how it used to be

I remember a day
Swinging on the swings
You said if I swung high enough
No one would ever get me
So I lived my life
as you said I should
I swung higher than all the rest
But life brought me down again

Repeat Chorus

I wish you could see
What you did
You made me grow up
You made me change again
Now I can see
You were wrong for me
But the one things we'll always have
Were the days of the smiles and laughs

I wish life were that easy
I wish time never got the best of me

When did I lose
All that I've gained?
When did fairytales
Turn into plain old games?
Where did the days
Of playing outside,
Hide and go seek,
Run and hide?
What happened to the boys
And girls we knew?
Where did all our friends go?
Where did they run to?
Who can I talk with?
Who can I see?
To get my childhood back
To get my life back
To get me back
To how I used to be.

It doesn't matter how long you've known a person, or how well you think they know you. DOn't ever let them think they have the power to change you. And if for some reason they do change then hurt you, try your best to get you back; it is possible.
