Pansies MAG
Smiling and blinking at the afternoon sun,
Overlooking a shimmering waterfall,
The water cascading over cool wet stones
The pansies look on with laughter
My grandmother, Memo, lies in her bed
A pansy plant by her side,
They are her favorite plants
She loves the colorful blooms
But pansies wilt quickly, as did she,
Surrendering all her beauty,
At the end she was smiling still
Because those pansies could still make her laugh
Now, as I stare at them,
Blinking and giggling,
I smile and feel her here
Enjoying her pansies just as she always did,
Surprising them with a smile.
