Letters Never Sent
Stacked unstable, unbalanced, and unsteady
They are simply unprepared, unpolished, and unready
They speak the words that first come to mind
Sour, sweet, bitter, and unconfined
Uninhibited and tell only the truth
As unrefined as unknowing youth
They sit stacked filling my desk
A proud statue of the statements unsuppressed
They are kept in a cage trapped under lock and key
They sit and wait knowing they will never be set free
Because if they were only problems they would cause
And though every word is fully meant
They are the letters that remain never sent
