The Prince
August 25, 2010
I dance to the lead
of the harrowing prince
who tickles the mind
with his paltry tricks
Coaxes me on
with never a clue
of all of the things
he's brought me to rue.
Why torture me so?
I'd rather you left
sent back to my God
to live in the cleft.
But how can you leave
what you never have been?
It's all in my mind-
you never could guess.
So notice or drop me
I'll go either way
just kill the suspense
and get on with my day.
