"We're all weird. Life's weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

this is about you, but let's pretend it's not
this is not about love

i'm not going to write about a cliche
i'm not going to write about love letters
or butterfly stomachs and skipping hearts
i'm not going to write about day dreams
and wishes on shooting stars or eleven/eleven
i'm not going to write about a once upon a time
with fairytale endings or happily ever afters

instead i'll write about the truth
i'll write about what's in between the lines
or the stomach-in-your-throat feeling and flat-lined hearts
i'll write about reality and stars never wished upon
or time passing by
i'll write about something real with a non-fiction start
or something with a cliff hanger's end

this is not about you, but let's pretend it is
this is about love

The author's comments:
I often write without correct capitalization and punctuation. Just poems though. Not like it matters. We're allowed to write what/how we want, right?
