The darkness within

Right when I think that resisting is futile
and I just want to fall into the darkness that is my soul
I see a glimmer of light
the light is so warm and comforting like a mothers love
yet the light is to distant in the darkness to touch
"why bother?" I say to myself
so I let the darkness devour what is left of my humanity
and all that is left is a hollow husk of a man that used to be me
My eyes open as the dream fades away from my memories
I get out of bed and start my day as I always do
yet, is there something I'm missing?
