My Heart is Yours
Your kiss,
warm like a dancing summer breeze,
wakes me from a deep slumber where nightmares haunted my every breath.
Damaged,
yet you love me still,
gathering me in your arms’ embrace.
I look at you.
Pale skin like the moon,
dark brown eyes full of expression.
Never have I adored anything more than you,
my dear,
my loveliest.
This came upon us so fast
– total strangers before –
and now gaze at what we’ve created.
Something beautiful,
something carnal,
something more amazing than my wildest dreams could concoct.
The day you held my hand was the day I knew you were perfect.
My heart is yours,
fluttering in gentle palms.
