Roses
Time passes, a scene flashes, I pray it isn't true
It just can't be, wake me of this dream, oh, please, I can't lose you
Roses, I see roses, as I walk inside this room
A favorite flower, turned a reminder of pain I'm going through
There is crying and self pity, I'll admit, I have had that
Alone with stabbing pain tears crush my strong heart flat
I look up very slowly to see you lying there
You're never coming back to me, of his I am aware
But yet, I feel your presence, Heaven holds your heart and soul
Death has left your body lifeless, still, and cold
No matter what they say, I'll never be the same
I'm living in a nightmare filled with lightning and hard rain
They say you don't know what you've got until it's done and gone
I find that strongly true, this pain goes on and on
The one thing I feel comfort in, realizing that you know
With every passing day, my love for you gets stronger by the growth
Roses, I see roses as I walk outside to pray
These flowers that you planted bloom yearly on this day
I see now they're no reminder of pain in which I still deal
It's a symbol of your presence and the love I'll always feel
