Twas the night of Halloween
And all through the air
Were creatures of the night
Without a thought of despair

The call was out
And all felt the pull
The moon was out
As was it full

Like a flock of black birds
They flew through the sky
Knowing it was time
For someone to die

The author's comments:
Originally when I wrote this, I had intended for it to be gargoyles. However, now that I look back at it, it reminds me more of crows or vultures or something scavenger like creature.
