Element Tree
Remember when
we were boys and girls
and my curls
would dance around my face
to silly little places
about your face
and we’d dance
and we’d laugh
and we’d cry
and the winds blew easily
and your smile so beautiful
and the skies wisped lullabies
but we
hung onto the clouds
we stood so tall
so proud
when we were boys and girls
I bet you bubble gum she wouldn’t make it to the finish
we compared scars under the bright sunlight of recess
and we raced
and we conquered
we were kings and queens
we fought glorious battles
but none were enemies
when we were boys and girls
we had it so easy
you could say
it was
worth it.
