retrospect
Sometimes, if I shut my eyes really hard it’s like she’s still here.
Sometimes, it’s like I can still hear her laugh,
I can still see that slow contagious smile
That makes everyone in the room want to share that secret joke.
Sometimes if I shut my eyes really hard it’s like I’ve turned time backwards.
If I could, I would take it all back.
Everything,
And go back to the day where we were just kids
Who could be satisfied playing at the park.
S***.
If I could turn back the clock,
I would make it so that we’d never met.
Maybe then I wouldn’t have to close my eyes to see her.
