People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But they will never forget how you made them feel. - Maya Angelou

Shall I sail away from this safe harbor?
To only find myself lost at sea.
Waves billowing at my sides,
Winds crashing at my sails.

I know my fate,
Or so I think,
But still I dream and explore
The wide wonders of the water
And pray I don’t land on the brink.
But if I were to get too close to the edge,
I would grab my rope, knot it,
And hang on.

And let the rain poor down my cheeks,
Still hanging on, though I’m weak.
The streams will wash away my worries
Until there is no other leak.

But don’t let fear seize your journey,
Keep your mind and heart full.
Keep on dreaming, keep exploring,
Let the hardship take its toll.
And always let the rain poor,
So you may return and again, leave the shore.

This piece is to be a metaphor for stepping out of your confort zone, not afraid of being hurt, and
"letting the rain poor" is to describe crying and how it makes you feel better just letting it out.
