Bridges can help take you home
Whether on an interstate or a country road
Under hill or over dale
Whether turnpike, small road, or trail

Standing tall against the sunset sky
As the stream of cars go by
Arches of stone bridge across a stream
Stark in contrast to iron beams

Some lit up by electric lights
Some invisible, covered by night
Some proud, broad, and tall
Some humble, short, and small

But they all serve the same purpose you see
They pave the way for you and me
Whether on an interstate or a country road
Bridges can help take you home
