Poised

Poised at the edge of the dock
Hand holding hand
Intertwined we jump
Pulling each other off of land
Our hearts start to pump
Excitement bubbles and bursts
Our bodies swallowed by silence
We are taken under the oceans peaceful curse
Captured without violence
Dark depths below bring to us no fear
Leaving the heat wave behind
No sounds of the beach we hear
Only quiet we shall find
Separated but not alone
Under the water
We forget the life
We have known

This was inspired by a picture of me holding hands with my friends jumping off a dock into water. I hope its a poem that will remind people of summer.
