Which would be worse: To live as a monster, or to die as a good man?

I hear the sighing of the spruce outside my window
I hear the whispers of the Aspen trees
It seems to me the are singing to each other
I strain to hear them but fail to
They speak in a strange tongue
They speak the Melody of the Trees…

And though I try to understand,
With all my heart and soul
I know that their language is one no scholar will decipher
It is one that only they can speak
And though I try with all my heart and soul
Never you or I can hear the Melody of the Trees.
