"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." -T.S Elliot

I’ve figured you out…
It’s the whole wide world…
And nobody knowing what they’re about.
It’s the little things we say, then forget so soon,
With every passing cycle of moon…

People change, and stay the same…
We all smile on the surface, but, most assuredly, it fades.
It’s a whisper in the dark, words of nothing,
Life loses it’s spark.

I can’t bear to watch humanity fall,
As all the while, people call:
Reaching for a hand to hold,
A word of kindness, considered oh so bold,
And lest we upset our careful stream,
Of who’s who, and what’s to be,
We’ll let the helpless sit and scream.

So many people, namely students, existing and surviving in current society are desperate for the outreach of their peers. Though it's a story often told, it is not one that usually prompts action. How did we get to the point where kindness was a risk, and image was everything? Until we find the courage to defy expectations, social standards, and cliques...those that are helpless among us will forever sit alone. Inspiration came from eating lunch in the bathroom at school everyday.
