A Cloudless Night
The moon can light up the sky
in a way the sun can not
the moon can make a pitch black
night into a beautiful, pale, grey-blue
the moon maybe just a dim reflection
of the sun's radiant power
but the sun hides the rest
of the beauty of a cloudless night
the stars are like the moon's
light being cut into a million tiny pieces
Every time you try to count them
they seem to duplicate
right before your eyes
every time a leaf rusles
a little in a cool breeze
they seem to brighten
as if everything were connected
the stars to the moon
the moon to the cool breeze
the cool breeze to the heat
of a person's cheek
the peaceful night to
a person's clamed mind
everything seems to fade away
under a cloudless night
