Believe in Me
“I’m losing hope.
I don’t know what to
Believe in anymore”.
He never gave a second thought.
“Believe in me.”
She raised her eyes skyward
To His face.
“It’s just so hard
These days.”
He smiled down at her.
“I know.”
“My life was supposed
To be special.”
She told Him.
He said,“It is.”
She sighed.
“I don’t think I can
Handle this anymore.”
Tears came to her eyes,
And she tried to blink them back.
They overflowed anyway.
He put his hand on hers.
“I can’t do this.”
She sobbed.
“Why did you plan
This cruel like for me?”
He said,
“Because you will learn from it.
It will make you stronger.
I know you’ll improve yourself
Even in rough times.”
She was confused,
A bit dazed, in fact.
“I can’t do it.”
The girl still insisted.
It was at that precise
Moment in time,
God took both
Of her hands,
In His
And whispered,
“I believe in you.
Believe in me.”
