"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"

I am running away
through the forest
Branches beating me,
with every passing seconds
Trees stand at attention
lining my path
some salute me
Praise me for my bravery
or compliment my speed and agility
As I pass them they reach out
grabbing at me
ripping out my my hair
tearing at my clothes
When that doesn't slow me
their claws come
carving into my skin
trying to gouge out my eyes
stretching long legs in my path
I see an opening in the trees
I see my freedom
Suddenly I'm laying in the dirt
HELP!!!! my mind screams
Up again running
I sprint for the light
Alas I break out
Finally I have escaped

Figurative poem about escaping from a stereotype and how hard it is to break away from it
