Along for the ride
Please don’t cry yourself to sleep tonight
The tears aren’t worth the price you’ll pay
I want to see happiness overshadow that fright
I want to see beauty wash the pain away
We all know it’s daunting, but understand that it’s life
Don’t hide in the shadows, learn how to live
The anger you equip, won’t disappear with that knife
The blood isn’t worth all that you’re destined to give
Tomorrow will bring sunshine, to lead you to your landing
Sunshine will bring hope, of all you can do
Don’t walk away, because you think you’re the only one standing
Look into today, and you’ll see I’m right here with you
So buckle your seatbelt, and hold on tight
Let yourself heal, you can’t drive away from those scars
Throw the pills out, this wont be your last night
But look at the passenger seat, not at the other cars
Once the darkness fades away, you’ll see me in the light
Hand strapped in yours, facing every tide
Right there beside you, going along for the ride.
